  • Overview

    Responsible for the timely and accurate processing of Bank’s payroll and its maintenance, reporting and reconciliations. Works with HR Management to enhance customer service, processing efficiencies, and strong internal controls while supporting the Banks’ strategic plan. Performs any functions, within scope of authority and expertise, to provide the highest level of service and responsiveness to customers and co-workers.

    Responsibilities

    • Process bi-weekly payroll. Brings efficiencies and process improvements to payroll function in maximizing HRIS system utilization.
    • Prepares quarterly and annual tax reconciliations and year-end process. Monitors and verifies payroll tax filings and compliance issues.
    • Serves as subject matter expert and employee liaison on wage and hour, compliance, and MSB policies through time keeping system
    • Ensures compliance with all audit controls; including development and administration of internal payroll audit processes. Prepares documents and files for auditor review as required.
    • Prepares General Ledger account reconciliations per establish schedule.
    • Updates and monitors time tracking system to ensure wage and hour law compliance as required.
    • Keeps abreast of developments within the area of payroll and benefits and makes appropriate recommendations for change. Attends relevant courses and seminars.
    • Participates in special projects as requested.
    • Support Bank’s regulatory compliance objectives and recommends changes to support prescribe requirements. Ensures full compliance with the Bank’s Information Security Policies and Procedures.   
    • Represents the Bank through active participation in community and industry organizations and events and promotes the business interests of the Bank. Refers sales opportunities to other departments or Bank affiliates in support of established objectives.   
    • Performs other duties as may be required.

    Requirements

    Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant work experience. Five years of dedicated payroll experience with a profound understanding of payroll systems and activities Strong understanding of payroll taxes, compliance and reporting. Must possess at least intermediate technology skills including knowledge of word processing database and spreadsheet applications and automated payroll systems and HRIS. Must be extremely detail oriented to have the ability to positively mediate difficult situations through and able effective communication both verbally and in writing. CCP or FCP designation highly preferred. A profound understanding of payroll systems and activities.
