  • Overview

    This position provides substantial technical and customer interaction support to the Managed Assets Department including preparation of loan and security documents, resolution of customer operating problems, review and resolution of exception reports, and working with commercial customers to insure MSB delivers high quality service. Candidate will need to work with the loan servicing department to insure accurate payment and bookings for the department portfolio.  Candidate must always be willing to perform any functions necessary, within scope of authority and expertise, to provide the highest level of service and responsiveness to customers.

    Responsibilities

    • Prepares loan documentation packages that reflect the specific underwriting loan structure unique to each transaction. Works with outside counsel and loan operations to insure all required documentation is gathered and prepared for review and execution by workout officer. Orders and reviews such documents as Flood Certifications, Appraisals and Environmental Inspections. Insures closed loan packages are properly processed and all appropriate records/files obtained, correctly and accurately completed, and properly filed in the appropriate credit and/or legal file.
    • Prepares ORE transfer documentation and ensures property management agreements are in place. Assists with property management as needed with bank owned property. Responsible for payment of real estate taxes and other town required taxes and the accurate book keeping of all expenses paid on the property.
    • Works on a day-to-day basis with assigned customers to resolve operational issues, obtain required documentation for ongoing file maintenance such as financial statements, tax returns, updated personal statements and resolution of documentation exceptions. Responds directly and in a timely manner to customer inquiries for information or problem resolution.
    • Works closely with loan servicing and accounting to ensure all payments are recorded accurately. Also works closely with loan servicing to ensure loans are booked appropriately. On the ORE properties, works with accounting to ensure booked properly and all payments are recorded correctly. At disposition of property ensures all funds are applied correctly and works with accounting to ensure transaction is recorded properly.
    • Prepares special reports as requested, including but not limited to regulatory reports, unfunded loan reports, monthly lending activity report, collection activity reports, criticized asset report, and meeting established deadlines for same.
    • Proficient with detail and accurate assigned administrative duties with respect to file maintenance, scanning, physically securing credit and legal files, and meeting administrative requests.
    • Assists Workout officers and the Credit Department in preparation of loan submissions, including but not limited to credit analyses and loan approval requests.
    • Refers sales opportunities to other departments or bank affiliates in support of established objectives.
    • Ensures full compliance with the Bank's Information Security Policies and Procedures.
    • Performs all duties in accordance with prescribed regulatory compliance guidelines.
    • Performs related and unrelated duties as may be required.

    Requirements

    • Associates degree or the equivalent required.
    • Must have two years of prior commercial loan experience.
    • Three years of prior experience in an administrative role preferred; particularly if acting under broad guidelines for day-to-day activities.
    • Must have strong attention to detail, organizational, customer service and communication skills. 
    • Must possess at least intermediate technology skills, including word processing, database and spreadsheet applications. 
    • Prior experience working with customers desirable.  
    • Must possess the ability to act independently under prescribed guidelines.
