  • Overview

    Administers the day-to-day operations of employer and employee paid group benefits and associated programs. Performs any functions, within the scope of authority and expertise, to provide the highest level of service and responsiveness to internal and external customers.


    • Coordinates daily processing of all benefit plans and related employer and participant information. Responsible for ensuring data integrity and security both internally and with third party vendors.
    • Primary contact for routine benefit inquiries from managers and employees on plan provisions, benefit enrollments, status changes and other general matters. Escalates more complex inquiries as appropriate. Serves as the day-to-day contact for plan vendors and third party administrators.
    • Documents and maintains administrative procedures and standard operating procedures for benefits processes.  Prepares and maintains employee benefit files.
    • Partners with payroll and Human Resources staff to ensure accuracy of benefit deductions and processing.
    • Conducts ongoing plan audits and invoice reconciliations.
    • Ensures compliance with applicable governmental regulations.
    • Prepares data for required deadlines and filings.
    • Assists in the annual open enrollment process, benefit communications, health and wellness and other applicable initiatives.


    • High school diploma or certificate in human resources/benefits related discipline.
    • 2 years of benefits, health and welfare plan or equivalent human resource experience.
    • Basic knowledge of compliance is preferred. Understanding of pertinent federal and state regulations and filings including ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA, ADA, Section 125, Qualified Medical Child Support Orders, disability, Workers Compensation, Medicare, and Social Security, 5500’s, and DOL.
    • Demonstrated ability to be organized, multi-task and prioritize.
    • Must posess basic analytical skills. Computer proficiency. Microsoft Excel and Word experience required. MS Publisher experience perferred.
    • Demonstrated written verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
